Another reference to Simple Abundance: September 18 entry discusses the author of The Women, Claire Booth Luce. A remake of the movie is out now.
I keep thinking about Lauren Blair's wedding in Savannah, and the amazing abilities of the women that made it all happen.
First, was Linda's tenancity in having Anna Lynn play her harp at the wedding. And the many, many blessings Anna Lynn and I have experienced because of this commitment. I've learned that it may be difficult and logistically challenging, but oh so worth her efforts - thank you, Linda!
Next, has to be Aunt Helen and her needle and thread. The wedding dress, post-Memphis-alterations, did not fit. Uh-oh. Rick had a great idea, and Helen sewed it into reality. Viola - a magnificent wedding dress that fit! Helen has sewed for years as a mother of five, a grandmother of all girls, first out of necessity that is now infused with love. Bless you, Aunt Helen!
Jean and Kathy and Kelsey and Karen - moving the pieces and party forward with project management perfection!
Even the cake LADY - the man who had been contracted to bake the wedding cake vanished. Poof = no cake. But a woman stepped in, with 1 day's notice to bake a beautiful, delicious cake.
Blessings to all these women!
