Wisdom around her neck

I have found yet more inspiration from our friend, Theresa, who is living with lung cancer.

She came to a volleyball game last week, and she was wearing a tiny, little pendant. I could see words inscribed, but I couldn't read them. So I leaned in close and this is what it said:

LOVE
the
LIFE
you
LIVE

This life. Not the life you imagined. Not the life you wish for. Not to "live the life you love" which is about the future, seeking, a quest. This is about the one life that you are currently living.
A quote from Eat, Pray, Love where Richard from Texas says to Elizabeth, "Your wishbone is where your backbone oughta be." Suck it up and live.

Today. I believe that is life's lesson that Theresa would implore.
